Hotel Pargo Rojo
Wandering the local markets of Puerto Columbia, on a university sponsored site visit to the small town outside of Cartagena, it's impossible to miss this regional delicacy. The pargo rojo, or red snapper, inspired my own color pencil drawing, and served as the backbone for the new design of an oceanfront, luxury hotel.
An up-and-coming city needs a jewel to attract visitors, and get them coming back year after year. Relating to the charm, style, and flavor of this Caribbean destination, the project evolved into these two anchoring towers with a connecting volume between. The thirty-story hotel provides every guest with an oceanfront view, and all the luxurious amenities that one expects.
Guests and clients have access at the hotel to restaurants, bars, retail spaces, conference rooms, business centers, multipurpose spaces, and a spacious banquet hall and ballroom. There's even a rooftop lounge, complete with spa center and infinity pool overlooking the ocean. A clear hierarchy of room suites allows guests plenty of options, and helps to maximize profits. Yet, the biggest draw is still the expansive garden that leads straight to the unique black sand beaches and pristine waters of the Caribbean.
Hotel Pargo Rojo is a comprehensive experience, for resident and guest, that truly reflects the vibrant community in which it's designed.
