Aventino Evolution
It took hundreds of years, and countless generations, to shape Rome into the city that it is today. An individual would leave behind something for the next, the one after would do the same, and on and on the story went. Through a much similar process, the evolution of these designed piazzas, on the Aventino Hill, took shape.
The class was divided into seven teams, with each assigned one of the seven piazzas on the hill, and tasked with designing a single, complete iteration. After the first one, every team rotated to the next piazza and designed a new iteration, on top of what the previous team had completed. This process continued until every team had contributed to every piazza.
In today's fast-paced, instantaneous, bottom-line world, it was refreshing to experience a project
with such an organic, and rewarding, process of evolution.
