AVENTINO EVOLUTION

Fall 2015  |  Prof. Jaime Correa  |  13 Partners

Rome is a city that developed and grew over hundreds of years.  The process of its design saw countless different creators leave their mark.  In much the same way that Rome grew as a city, these designed piazzas on the Aventino Hill did the same.  Seven teams each took one of the seven piazzas on the hill and designed one, complete iteration (example outlined in red above).

After the first iteration’s completion, each team would rotate to the next piazza and complete another.  This process of rotating continued until every team had finished an iteration in every piazza.  Each team designed on the existing site left by the previous team.  The piazzas incrementally evolved from their original plan to their final iteration.
