Ferguson & Shamamian Architects
Home to some of the best and brightest in traditional and classical architecture, this New York City firm has thrived at the pinnacle of the industry
for more than 30 years. Here I got my first taste of studying the details and nuances of sophisticated design, and what it takes to successfully incorporate them into projects all across the country.
for more than 30 years. Here I got my first taste of studying the details and nuances of sophisticated design, and what it takes to successfully incorporate them into projects all across the country.
Ferguson & Shamamian Architects is known for their high-end residential designs that bring a lifetime of satisfaction to their clients. It was my job to help make that a reality. I assisted the architects in creating renderings and accurate 3D computer models, both of interior and exterior spaces. From there, it was possible to highlight strengths of the design and diagnose areas that needed more attention. These renderings became a focal point of client presentations, and even some marketing strategies.
Multiple trips to project locations and construction sites were included with my intern experience. On survey visits, I worked with a small team to complete sketches and measurements for drawing production. Additionally, I was able to walk through an active construction site and document the progress. Throughout the process, there was constant communication and collaboration with the nearly one hundred architects and designers.
This remarkable experience opened my eyes to the full potential of classical architecture in today's modern world. I enjoyed the opportunity,
and quality of work, so much so that I gladly accepted an invitation to intern for a second time over my winter break.
