MAGIC CITY CASINO MASTER PLAN
Fall 2013 | Prof. Steven Fett | 1 Partner
The project was to design an 80-acre community around the Magic City Casino in Miami, FL. This community was designed on many fundamental New Urbanism principles, including emphasizing the importance of walkability, mixed-use buildings, and integration of different zones. The casino is seen in this hand drawn and colored, master plan as the large black-colored (existing) building with the circular dog track in the southern area of the plan.
The perspectives show a Miami-Mediterranean style, apartment building with an adjacent park, and also a modern, mixed-use building located in the center of the project. The aerial view of the entire master plan (above) illustrates the beautifying of streets, increased mixed-use buildings, and the celebration of the Magic City Casino as all fundamental design strategies for this project.
